Service Description

Linkage counselling service is a non-profit Christian organization that offers affordable, professional counselling to the community. We are a team of professional counselors including registered clinical counsellors, registered social workers, medical doctor and pastor who are spiritually rooted in Christian faith and work in a team context to provide the highest quality of care in English, Cantonese and Mandarin to the community. All counseling session and any personal information are kept confidential.

Counselling services

Our counselling services include:

Individual counselling, couple counselling, premarital counselling, family counseling, youth counseling and play therapy. We offer a variety of counselling support for a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, work-related stress, parenting, family relationship, relationship problems, career development, Self-esteem building, spiritual direction and ICBC cases.

We also offer parenting workshops and different psychoeducation workshops.

Session Rates 

Linkage counseling subsidy program 

In some instances, you may be covered by a 3rd party such as extended health (insurance providers), ICBC, Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) or some religious organizations including churches.

Linkage counseling fund is available to subsidize partial counseling fees for people who need counselling but are experiencing financial difficulties. All subsidy applications are subject to approval. Linkage counseling subsidy is donated by individual sponsors and churches. Please contact us for more details.

Dr Po Chee Grace Ko is a registered social worker and family therapist. She has a graduate diploma in Christian Studies and continues studying in Regent College and the Bible Study Fellowship. She has taught in the City University of Hong Kong and University of British Columbia to train social workers and counselling teachers. She has written books and did researches on family, adoption, social work education, mentoring and voluntary people helping. Grace is now a member of CCM Linkage Advisory. She has the passion to train voluntary people helpers and serves in the Care Ministries of her church, and is currently teaching in the Evergreen Academy of Trinity Western University. Grace likes painting, music, doing exercises and gardening.

Alice Chen has worked professionally in the field of mental health for a number of years, caring for people diagnosed with severe mental illnesses and conducting research into mental health services.  Alice grew up in Hong Kong, received her undergraduate and graduate training in psychology and counselling in the United States and obtained her doctoral degree in health care and epidemiology from the University of British Columbia.  Her interest is in the mental wellbeing and access to mental health services of ethnic Chinese and the culturally diverse population in Canada.

Joseph has been blessed with a 36-year career as a social worker. He retired in March 2018 from active practice as senior clinical social work supervisor at The Salvation Army Vancouver Community and Family Services.   

Seasoned by 28 years of social work practice in Greater Vancouver and informed by his Christian faith, he has developed a passionate burden of heart at raising young Canadians of Chinese heritage. Joseph seeks post-retirement involvement in social ministries that impact the growth and development of younger generations.  Joseph holds a MSW degree and is a registered social worker, RSW, (2019) at BC College of Social Workers. 

Joseph is married to his `better-half’, Connie.  Together, they raised three sons in Canada and now have the joy of sharing the love of three young adults and a daughter-in-law.  Joseph enjoys hiking, biking, browsing youtube and listening to classic Christian hymns, such as `Rock of Ages’ and nostalgic hits of the 60s/70s, like `The Young Ones’ by Cliff Richard. 

Before his retirement from the position of Centre Director of CCM, Kelly was Chief Operating Officer of SUCCESS.  He has close to 40 years of combined experience in social work, counselling, personnel management and administration. 

Upon graduation from the Social Work Dept. of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Kelly joined HSBC as a personnel officer in 1979.  Led by a strong passion in human service, he left the bank and became a social worker at St. James Settlement.  He joined Hong Kong Polytechnic as a student counsellor in 1986.  In 1991, Kelly moved to Vancouver and obtained a Master of social work from the University of British Columbia.  From 1992 to 2011, he was the program director of Family and Youth Services of SUCCESS before his promotion to Chief Operating Officer.  He began his career as a social service consultant in 2014 and joined CCM as a Centre Director until his retirement at the end of 2019. 

During the past years, Kelly has provided field supervision to many social work/counselling psychology students from both local and overseas universities.  He is currently a peer reviewer of the Council on Accreditation (COA) helping social service organizations in to meet best practice standards.
